2007 Paso Robles Rosé

Situated halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the Paso Robles Appellation is conducive to growing high quality Rhone grape varieties. In particular, French Camp Vineyards offer a hot and dry imate, well drained sandy soils, and the cold nights expected at an altitude of 2,000 feet in Paso’s eastern mountain range. The extreme diurnal temperature variation, a major factor of the Paso Robles region in general, is exaggerated by the property’s high elevation and 25-mile separation from the coast.

Valdiguie is well served by the growing conditions of French Camp Vineyards. The arid climate buffers vines from rot and mildew while the high elevation intensifies the fruitiness of the grapes and brightens their acidity

Tasting Notes

This elegant dry rosé is characterized by a nose of apple blossom, kiwi and honey lowed by broad flavors of raspberry, strawberry and pineapple. It is clean and bright on the palate with a weighty mouthfeel and a lingering finish. Food pairings include stuffed pork chops with herb dressing, crisp crab cakes with a light cream sauce, or grilled vegetable kabobs.
